Here is my Digital Narrative

Story

The main purpose of the story is to show that human is able to resilitate any problems. The thing is that it doesn't have to be something huge, even a simple sound of "meow" from a cat can help.

Camera angles, shots and design choices

At the beginning of the video I'm starting from the end of story, in other words I'm using an inverted pyramid technique (UPD, p.116). It means that I want to show people the most important part of the story so that they will remember it. At this scene I used establishing shot in order to show the entire setting that audience needs to see and remember (Media Production, p.27). Then it follows with zoom-in camera movement to bring audience closer to main character (MC) and show his emotions(Media Production, p.24). As the edit effect of rewind happens, we have a zoom-out camera movement which oppositelly moves people away from that place/time/MC (Media Production, p.24). Right before the rewind, we have a stop-frame during which I'm using a voice over technique (Media Production, p.34) to give information to the audience about past events. In the next scene I use a medium shot (Media Production, p.24), in order to show the environment from another perspective and to show MC's actions without excess material (objects, etc.). The next scenes are using combination such as medium shot to close-up shot to get audiences attention to the particular object/subject(Media Production, p.24). In a few scenes I've used the combination of camera movements such as: tilt up/down and pan left/right together, again, in order to switch watcher's attention(Media Production, p.27). I didn't use follow right/left camera movement technique(Media Production, p.27) since I didn't have much movement in this video.

Music and Edit technique choices

During the whole video I've been using a cut (Media Production, p.30) effect in order to keep the pace of the video as it should be. However, the cut technique helped me a lot to keep scenes logically connected. Also, I used a few superimposition (Media Production. p.30) techniques to let audience know what happens in my mind during the scene. I used wipe and fade effects together, when I wanted to show some text in some part of the screen. As for the sound I've used theme, bridge and mood music. At the first and last scenes I've used the same theme music to show that this music indicates determined MC's action, so people would immediately know what this music means in the scene (Media Production, p.41). As for the bridge music I've used 2-3 different tracks which not only showed the change of place and scene but the whole of mood in that environment (Media Production, p.41).

Reflection

When I was filming the first scenes I didn't have much expectations about them and I didn't like them. I've been filming for 2 days and on the 2nd day I was more confident and last scenes were perfect for me. At the 3rd day I started editing my video and then I again wasn't sure about the first scene. Then I deleted it and made a new one with a better idea. I finished editing at the end of the 4th day and I was very satisfied and happy about the result.
